Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers guests a unique kind of safari experience in Kenya. Activities include day and night game drives, guided bush walks, bush breakfasts, visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, visits to local schools and community development projects.

Endangered Species Encounters: Today, only two white rhino in the world and both are found at Ol Pejeta conservancy in a 700 acre enclosure protected by 24 hour armed security. Take the opportunity to visit the enclosure, learn from the keepers about the efforts being taken to preserve the last of this highly endangered species, as well as view Grevy Zebra and Jackson’s Hartebeest in a private and intimate setting. *Visits: 8:30 am or 4:00 pm – duration 45 minutes. Physical interaction with the rhinos is relatively restricted.
Canine Anti-Poaching Unit Visit: Visit the conservancy’s blood hound dog kennels and learn about the training that transforms these canines into anti-poaching patrollers. After your tour, you can play a game of human-canine hide and seek, trying to evade the dogs and finding a spot to hide within the Morani Information Center. *Visits start at 8:30 am. Must be at least 12 years old to participate. Closed toed shoes are recommended. In case the dogs are deployed. you will be rescheduled or refunded.
Lion Tracking: Several lions on the conservancy have been fitted with radio collars and you can learn how to track them with the researchers with a special tracking device. When you locate a pride, you will learn how to identify the individuals by notches on their ears, whisker patterns and other distinguishing marks, and all of the data is passed to the Ol Pejeta Ecological Monitoring team in order to further understand these magnificent predators. * 6:30 am or 3:30 pm start times – duration approximately 2 hours. Guests must remain in the vehicle at all times.
Cultural and Community Visits: The staff at Ol Pejeta Bush Camps are all drawn from the communities surrounding the conservancy and are always eager to share their culture and history. See first hand how these communities are benefitting from the conservancy, visiting agricultural projects such as water collection and tree nurseries, or the jiko energy project to reduce firewood usage. During term-time on weekdays, it is possible to also visit a local school. *Visit 10:30 am – duration 2 hours. Prebooking recommended.

On arrival, you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your road transfer to Saruni Rhino Camp. where you will stay for three nights.
Time permitting, enjoy lunch and in the afternoon a Rhino Tracking Experience.
The vast rhino sanctuary has been fenced in what is one of the most advanced conservation projects in Kenya. Operational only throughout certain hours of the day for maximum protection, the use of the transmitter allows us to game drive our guests a tracking distance away from the nearest rhino, leaving the vehicle and continuing on foot (very lightly to not give away our presence) to meters from the grazing rhino. The tension is palpable as you come across the rhino in such close proximity for the first time; heart beating, pulse racing, curiosity and excitement mounting โ it doesnโt get more thrilling than this!

Reteti Elephant Sanctuary: During your visit, you will be paired with a keeper who will accompany you the entire time to tell you about their work and answer any questions you may have. From a special viewing platform, watch the elephants come in from their walk to receive their bottles and the have playtime in a mud hole. Afterwards, enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the sanctuary. *Visiting hours are between 8:30am-10:00am & 11:30am-1:00pm. Arrive promptly at 8:30am or 11:30am for the full experience. They ask that you wear green if possible.
The Sacred Mountain Trek: Standing proud at Saruniโs doorstep, Ololokwe is a pillar of cultural significance to the Samburu and an exciting trekking venture to many others. Stretch your legs on one of our day excursions up Ololokweโs slopes in the company of our professional Samburu guides.
Setting off at dawn, you drive to the foot of Ololokwe (30 mins from the lodge). Whatever your pace, our guides are at your side throughout, teaching you about the mountain and all of its wonders. Half way to the top, you stop for a Saruni breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit and pancakes with tea and coffee (or, to your liking). Now, full of energy, you reach the top and admire the magnificent view of Samburuland. You begin your descent with the prospect of a delicious lunch of fresh pasta and salads in the shade of the ancient Moranโs cave

Mara Elephant Project: Mara Elephant Project is one of Asiliaโs Positive Impact partners in Kenya. They work to protect elephants in the Greater Mara ecosystem, which are under threat from human-wildlife conflict, poaching and diminishing space to roam. Their headquarters are in the Mara North Conservancy, and their work includes elephant collaring, monitoring and research, anti-poaching patrols, rapid response units and mitigating human-wildlife conflict through education as well as providing practical support to communities.
Game drives: Twice daily game drives with passionate and highly knowledgeable guides are offered from Naboisho, as well as the chance to search for the elusive nocturnal creatures of the conservancy on a night drive. Off-road driving is possible on the privately owned land for once-in-a-lifetime sightings and excellent photo opportunities. Our guides take you in seven-seater open game-viewing vehicles or closed vehicles that seat five. All the vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices, and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty. Game Drives are also possible in the adjoining Masai Mara Reserve (additional costs apply).
Walking safaris: Discover the smaller ecosystems that tend to pass unnoticed from a vehicle: explore the bush by foot, accompanied by an expert armed guide and Maasai tracker.
