Enjoy two full days of activities at Mwiba Lodge.
Mwiba, a secluded, sophisticated haven set among massive stone boulders, ancient coral trees and acacias, overlooking a rocky gorge on the Arugusinyai River, is the latest addition to the Legendary Expeditions portfolio. Set in harmony with this idyllic natural backdrop, Mwiba offers an unmatched experience in luxury adventure. This exclusive destination mixes both traditional and modern design elements, creating an inviting, sophisticated hideaway.
The interiors artfully integrate the natural surroundings with layer upon layer of textured creams paired with suede, tans and accents of chocolate and charcoal. From the linen dressed slope-armed sofas to ornately carved wooden leg tables and cascading lighting, the eight double suites all give way to a wide-open layout where each room flows to another. The bathroom brings the outdoors inside with traditional canvas walls accented with copper fixtures, large soaking tubs with private outside showers, all with transporting views from hardwood plank decks.
The grey slate-lined infinity-edge pool overlooks three springs where guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of a constant parade of wildlife. Vast and privately controlled, this exquisite 129,530 acre wildlife reserve is vibrantly lush with color-infused botanicals, 33 freshwater springs and a diverse array of wildlife. Game drives, bush walks and cultural excursions to the local tribeโs village are just a few of the magical experiences that begin at Mwiba, where a world of adventure awaits.

Enjoy three full days of game viewing activities at Singita Sasakwa Lodge.
Game Drives: Daily game drives with professional guides provide the perfect opportunity to get up close to Africaโs incredible animals, while evening drives reveal the elusive magic of nocturnal Africa.
Community Visits: Perhaps Africaโs greatest beauty is its people and, as part of Singitaโs deep commitment to community development, guests are invited to visit the nearby communities. The Grumeti Fund Community Outreach Program works with residents of the 21 villages bordering Singita Grumeti to realise their development goals. We partner with these communities to address issues of education, natural resource management, enterprise development and water management. We encourage guests to visit these communities to experience the success of these projects firsthand.
Guided Safari Walks: Walking safaris are an incredible way to experience the bush up close and personal. Your expert guide and tracker will accompany you as you track animals on foot through the wilderness and explore the magnificent plants and landscapes around you. We suggest a minimum age of 15 years for this activity, but participation is at the discretion of your Field Guide.
Stargazing: There is perhaps no more transcendent experience than looking up at a full sky of sparkling stars. Man has had a love affair with the nighttime sky for centuries and with very little pollution and no city lights to detract for the stars, your view of the heavens here will be crystal clear โ nothing between you and the vast African sky above.
Archery: Spend a morning on taking lessons from your guide on how to shoot with a bow and arrow. With a bow for children and a professional compound bow with arrows for adults, it is a fun activity for the whole group.

At a time to be discussed the night before: After a morning briefing by the Volcanoes National Park‘s guides on how to behave in the forest and in the presence of mountain gorillas, you will then enter the park for a gorilla trek which will take you until around midday depending on where you find them. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. It is important to take plenty of water. Cameras and plenty of fast speed film is recommended. It can rain at a few minutesโ notice; hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including zip lock bags for cameras and film.
After the trek, lunch will be at the lodge. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure for optional excursions/activities.

Today you will be collected for your second gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park.
Similarly to yesterday’s trek, you’ll be transferred by your guide to park headquarters early in the morning where you will wait to begin your gorilla trek. Please note that the trek can take up to eight hours and is on uneven terrain and can be a challenging hike. The duration of the trek is highly variable depending on the location of the gorilla family you’re visiting, and once you find the family, you’ll be able to spend one magical hour with them, watching them interact, feed and play. Once the trek is over and you’re back at Park Headquarters, you’ll be transferred back to the lodge to rest for the remainder of the day.
