Upon arrival to Keflavik International Airport (KEF), take Airport Direct shuttle bus (book and pay directly) to the Reykjavik Terminal to wait for your pick up for the Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon and Bubble tour (winter) (FLO-T11404211 – booked directly).
Pick-up begins at 12:00 pm as scheduled with Buubble directly. There may be 1 to 2 additional pickups in your SUV before you, therefore pick could be anytime between 12:00-12:30 pm. If it is after 12:30 pm, and you have still not been picked up, please call +354-773 4444 immediately.
STOP 1 : THINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK
Our first stop is Thingvellir National Park. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and the most significant place regarding Icelandic history. The name Thingvellir in Icelandic means “Parliament Fields”. The general assembly, the Althing was established here in 930 AD making it one of the oldest parliaments in the world. Thingvellir is also known for its geology and has been a protected area since 1928. Thingvellir is among the very few places on Earth where you can observe a continental drift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
STOP 2 : GEYSER HOT SPRING
Our next stop is the famous Geysir hot spring area. It is located in the geothermally active valley Haukadalur. Today the most active is Strokkur, an energetic spouting hot spring, which goes up every 5 minutes or so. The white column of boiling water forms a beautiful half bubble before it goes up as a super-heated steaming water. It can reach the height of 15-30 m (60-90 feet). Strokkur (the churn) was formed in an earthquake in the year of 1789. Other interesting hot springs are Blesi and Fata, the former are two large basins separated by the ”blaze” but connected to it is Fata. We also have Konungshver named after King Christian IX king from Denmark.
STOP 3 : GULLFOSS WATERFALL
Our next stop is Gullfoss waterfall, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. It runs down the river Hvítá into beautiful curved three step “staircase”! It is a very powerful experience to walk close to the waterfall on the west side as on average we have 140 cubic meters per second (80 in winter) falling down the staircases. When you arrive at Gullfoss parking area, the edge can’t be seen, so it appears as the earth is simply absorbing the waterfall.
STOP 4 : RELAXING IN SECRET LAGOON
Our next stop is in the Secret Lagoon at Fludir. It is a unique natural hot spring and the oldest swimming pool in Iceland (made in 1891). Its temperature is perfect and the water holds at 38-40 Celsius (100-104 Fahrenheit) all year around. When done bathing, enjoy the beautiful landscape- see the natural geysirs heating the lagoon and the nearby greenhouse.
STOP 5: SLEEPING IN A BUBBLE
Our last visit will be at a bubble for a night stay. All the bubbles are transparent, so if the aurora is dancing you will have a private show. We will have all 9x bubbles fully transparent and exactly same. No need to select because all guests will get same type of bubble. All bubbles are located a short walking distance from our service house, which contains two toilets, two showers, and a self-service kitchen.

Travel from Reykjavík to explore a lava cave in the Bláfjöll Mountains followed by a visit to a G Adventures-supported sustainable community for a tour and optional lunch. In the afternoon stop at an Icelandic horse farm before returning to Álftröð. In the evening, head out near the guesthouse in search for Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings will be dependent on weather conditions. G Adventures cannot guarantee that travelers booked on this tour will experience the Northern Lights.
Lava Caving by the Blue Mountains Þingvellir
Go beneath the earth’s surface to discover how Iceland was created. Walk and crawl through the Raufarholshellir cave that was carved out by flowing volcanic lava, and marvel at the multi-colored rock formations left in its path.
Your G for Good Moment: Solheimar Ecovillage Visit
Stop to visit Solheimar Ecovillage, a sustainable community of over 100 people, dedicated to helping people with disabilities. Nestled beautifully among the countryside, take in the panoramic views as you support this non-profit community by touring the village to learn about the various workshops, businesses, and programs and opting to enjoying a meal at the local coffee house.
Horse Farm Visit Hveragerði
The Icelandic horse is a very unique breed. Although small and at times pony-sized, Icelandic horses are long-lived and hardy. Tour this working farm and learn all you need to know about the Icelandic horse, with a focus on its gait and unique character.
Optional Activity: Horseback riding Hveragerði 1h-2h30m (own account)
Saddle up and journey along the longest river in Iceland, Thjórsá. You will take the route once traveled by Vikings. Prepare to be awed by nature as you witness abundant and diverse birdlife and rugged Icelandic landscapes as far as the eye can see. Helmets and warm overalls are provided. This activity will be contingent on the weather.

Thingvellir National Park Visit
Stop at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, to see the tectonic faults created by North American and Eurasian tectonic plates shifting apart. The Oxara river cuts through the largest rift in the valley, Almannagja, and leads to the Oxarafoss waterfall. Iceland’s parliament was also established in the area in 930. The park was later created to protect the remains of the open-air assembly grounds. One of the most-visited sights in Iceland, the park is an excellent spot for camping, hiking and snorkelling between the tectonic plates.
Gullfoss Waterfall Visit
Discover one of the most impressive waterfalls in Iceland, Gullfoss and complete the circuit known as the Golden Circle. This massive waterfall cascades over three “steps” before spilling into a large crevice. Fed by a glacier lake, the water passing through the falls can be a dark grey depending on how much sediment gets pushed through the river.
Geysir Visit
See a variety of geothermal pools and the erupting hot spring Strokkur. Geysir is one of the oldest geysers recorded in the world, but is most often dormant. Strokkur erupts a spray of boiling hot water straight into the air about every ten minutes.

The Secret Lagoon natural hot springs are the Golden Circle’s best kept secret. The pool’s natural surroundings and steam rising into the air gives the place a magical feeling. Seljalandsfoss Waterfall Visit
Seljalandsfoss is a 60m (196 ft) tall waterfall located along the popular ring road. Behind the flow of water is a path, allowing visitors to peek behind the curtain of water cascading over the rocks above.
Skógafoss Waterfall Visit
Visit Skógafoss, one of the largest and most recognizable waterfalls in Iceland. The 60m (200 ft) high falls forms a constant mist that floats in the air, if viewed in the sunlight the mist can create rainbows. The sound and view of the thundering water cutting through the green hills make the falls a must-see on any trip to Iceland.
Optional Activity: Sólheimajökull Glacier Hike (PAID FOR / INCLUDED)
Equipped with crampons and an ice axe, hike through the dramatic glacier valley and along the black sand flood plains to the edge of the ice. Enjoy stunning, panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, glaciers and the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. The guide will explain the volcanic history of the area and the effects of global warming.
Return to Reykjavik where you will stay at Hotel Cabin for one night.

Your GAdventures Tour ends upon check out from your hotel. Make your own way to Reykjavik Airport (RKV) by Airport Direct (book and pay directly) to arrive 45 minutes prior to your scheduled flight to Akureyri (3:00 pm). Upon arrival (3:45 pm), make your way to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by a SagaTours representative and transferred to Kea Hotel by taxi, where you will stay for three nights. Enjoy some leisure time before your evening tour.
At 9:00 pm meet in the lobby of the hotel to join the scheduled Northern Lights Mini Bus Tour (9:30 pm).

Dettifoss Waterfall Tour from Akureyri is the perfect tour to fully experience the magic and power of the great Dettifoss Waterfall. We take our time to find the best sights for photographing depending on weather and other conditions during that particular day.
The tour starts by going straight from Akureyri to Lake Mývatn where we make a short stop, and you get a chance to see the magnificent area. Then we drive towards Dettifoss Waterfall, going off the main road. We arrive at Jökulsá á Fjöllum glacier river, where a mass of water, mud and sand rumbles into Iceland’s most impressive canyon from Vatnajökull Glacier. Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe, 100m wide and with fall of 44m. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the best viewpoints of the waterfall, and adjacent waterfalls of Hafragilsfoss and Selfoss. If the ground is covered in snow (which it is usually in winter), we use snowshoes to make the hike easier.
