Upon arrival into Auckland, after completing immigration and customs formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will collect your rental car and drive to the SKYCITY hotel Auckland (or similar) where you will be staying for one night.

After breakfast you will drive to Waitomo where you will enjoy a guided tour of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. At the end of your cave tour you will continue to Rotorua with a stop in Matamata for a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set.
After your tour you will drive to the Millennium Hotel Rotorua (or similar) where you will spend the next two nights.

Waimangu Valley Walk & Hike
There are many walks, mainly downhill, to choose from. See Echo Crater, and Frying Pan Lake, the world’s largest hot water spring. and Inferno Crater and its beautiful blue hot lake.
Mt Haszard Hiking Trail: The Mt Haszard Hiking Trail begins at Inferno Crater and moves high above the Waimangu Volcanic Valley floor. Not recommended for children, pushchairs or wheelchairs. It is steep and is rough underfoot in places
Redwood Treewalk Day Walk
The Redwoods Treewalk is a 553-m walkway that consists of a series of 23 suspension bridges traversing the gaps between 22 majestic 115-year-old Redwood trees. The bridge sections gradually incline from 6-m in height to a stunning 12-m at its peak. Feel the spirit of Rotoruaโs iconic Redwood Forest from above and up close amongst these old gentle giants. This suspended 30-minute ecological walk provides a unique birdโs eye perspective of the forest, capturing its picturesque beauty and ambience which is even more stunning in wet weather.
Rainbow Springs Park Entry
Visit the Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park where hundreds of brown and rainbow trout can be seen swimming in the crystal clear spring waters. Walk along a level bush walk with many varieties of native ferns and view the resident bird life in the natural surroundings. The Big Splash ride is included.
Te Ra + Te Po (Te Po Combo) Seat in Coach
Later today visit Te Puia Geothermal Reserve and see the boiling mudpools and cascading Pohutu geyser that makes Rotorua famous as New Zealand’s “thermal city”. Enjoy a visit to the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute with local Maori carvers in action. This evening enjoy an authentic Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert.

After breakfast you will drive towards Queenstown, stopping in Mt Cook.
Leave the Canterbury Plains behind, travelling over the braided Rakaia River into the MacKenzie Country. At Lake Tekapo visit the Church of the Good Shepherd. From Pukaki, take the road inland to Mount Cook.
After stopping for lunch, depart Mount Cook and follow the shores of Lake Pukaki to the small town of Twizel. The route turns south through the MacKenzie basin and the junction town of Omarama. Then its over the Lindis Pass to the old gold workings near Tarras, the township of Cromwell. and the “Alpine Resort” of Queenstown. Drive to the Millennium Hotel Queenstown (or similar) where you will stay for three nights.

Early in the morning, you will leave Queenstown to drive to Milford Sound. Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound.
Arrive in time for your Scenic Cruise and Lunch Tour. A full length cruise of Milford Sound in modern, purpose built vessels offers magnificent views of the Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. Commentaries are provided in several languages. Lunch included on this cruise.
After the cruise, the return journey will give opportunity for further sightseeing that may have been missed on the way to Milford.

There are two driving routes available for travelling between Queenstown and Wanaka. The shortest route to Wanaka is over the Crown Range Road (approximately 1 hour). This route must always be checked for access during the winter months. Via the more conservative and longer route, enjoy a pleasant scenic drive following the Shotover and Clutha Rivers.

Leave the Glacier Region today travelling north towards the town of Hokitika. From Kumara Junction follow the signs north towards Greymouth and the Taramakau road rail bridge. En route is Shantytown – a replica 1880’s mining town set on one of the Coast’s former gold rush sites.
Return your rental car to the Greymouth Railway Station prior to boarding the train. Board the TranzAlpine train and ascend through lush beech forests past the alpine village of Arthurโs Pass before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps.
