Andalusia

Andalusia

Bordering Spain’s southern coast, the large autonomous region of Andalusia is famous for its grand, historic cities; spectacular festivities; and stunning beaches. Cordoba, once the Islamic centre of culture in the west, is home to the glorious Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba (mosque), while many other mesmerising pieces of ancient architecture also adorn the landscape. In Seville, wander through the flowers at the Parque Maria Luisa and take boat rides along the Guadalquivir River, and end off the day with a meal of delicious traditional Andalusian cuisine. In Granada, explore the lavish palaces of Alhambra and Generalife. The vibrant culture of Andalucia is one of its major draw cards – from fantastic festivals (fiestas), passionate Flamenco shows and Zarzuelas, and lively tapas bars, a spirit of celebration pervades. Don’t miss the opportunity to relax along the palm-fringed white sands of the gorgeous Costa del Sol beaches.
