Situated in Northern Botswana bordering the Chobe National Park, the Linyanti Concessions stretch across the Kwando-Linyanti river system. An abundance of wildlife roams freely between the woodland habitats, ancient floodplains and forests that make up these lush, unfenced reserves. The big game in this area increases dramatically during the dry season when the area hosts large herds of impala, blue wildebeest, giraffe and buffalo as well as the world’s highest density of elephant. Several packs of wild dog are found in the area and lion, leopard and cheetah are frequently sighted. Night drives allow for the discovery of nocturnal creatures such as civets, genets, honey badgers and spring hares. This vast, untamed wilderness is the perfect location for those seeking a unique African adventure in an exclusive and remote big game habitat.

Wilderness DumaTau’s extensive lagoon frontage ensures that each ultra-spacious 142 m2 guest suite has uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, and the movements of the mega-herds of elephants the Linyanti is so famous for.

All seven twin tented suites and one family unit have a private plunge pool and an inviting lounge, and feature a spacious bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The main dining and lounge areas boast unimpeded wide-angle vistas overlooking the wildlife-rich lagoon, while the centrally located Osprey Retreat wellness centre and gym – shared with Wilderness Little DumaTau – includes an inviting shaded deck, a lap pool, spa, a drinks and snack counter, and Safari Boutique. Wilderness DumaTau runs on 100% solar energy.

Wilderness King's Pool consistently delivers the best dry season game viewing in far northern Botswana. Situated on the border with Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, Wilderness King's Pool is in an area vital to the seasonal movements of elephant herds, and to the survival of rare roan and sable antelope. Looking down over the Linyanti River, and up from the safety of sunken hides gives guests unexpected angles from which to witness great wildlife moments.

Seven well-appointed twins and one suite, all of canvas, wood and thatch, soak up the views of the lagoon. The main area, deck and bar offer uninterrupted views, with closer proximity to the water, while parts of the roof extend down to ensure privacy.

Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp is ideal for families and small groups looking to explore this wildlife-rich concession. Unrivalled in its remoteness and sense of space, the camp overlooks the iconic Linyanti Marsh.

Eight large, airy tents recreate an explorer-type style, while the two main areas are on a slightly raised deck. Game drives and full-day excursions with lunch at remote picnic spots enable fuller exploration of the varying habitats, including the river, floodplains, open dry-land savannah and woodland.

Booking sole use of the camp is no longer a prerequisite, however, sole use remains possible to book, subject to availability.

INSIDER'S TIP: Look out for large herds of elephants that congregate along the waterways of the Linyanti River and floodplain in front of camp.

Situated just to the north of Wilderness DumaTau on the same lagoon frontage, Wilderness Little DumaTau is a haven of sophisticated elegance.

With just four supremely spacious tented guest suites, each with its own lounge, private plunge pool, bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, this intimate camp promises an exceptional Linyanti safari experience.

The camp's dining and lounge areas offer uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, and it is here that guests have the opportunity to learn more about elephant conservation and the reserve's important biomonitoring project.

Wilderness Little DumaTau shares a wellness centre and gym with Wilderness DumaTau; this includes an inviting shaded deck, a lap pool, spa, a drinks and snack counter, also Safari Boutique. With easy access to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve's extraordinary range of habitats, prolific plains game and attendant predators are a certainty all year round.

Wilderness Savuti is situated in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve along the Savuti Channel, famous as a sporadic and unusual watercourse. As part of a natural cycle, the waters of the Savuti either flow strongly – a magnet for thirsty wildlife – or recede to leave behind a rich grassland.

Wilderness Savuti provides front-row seats to amazing wildlife viewing perched high on the banks of the channel. The camp looks down on a miraculous ribbon of territory where both plains game and predators thrive, and exploring the length of this channel and its associated woodlands is thus a highlight here.

The intimate camp's en-suite accommodation is in six canvas-and-thatch tents (including a family unit). From the camp's thatched dining area, elevated wooden decks extend out over the channel bed, with a small pool, fire deck and wonderful views over the channel.

INSIDER'S TIP: The Savuti Star Bed with a sublime location overlooking the Savuti Channel and facing Zibadianja Lagoon to the west. Intimate encounters with iconic wildlife parading in the channel, as the Milky Way dances across an inky African sky. It is the perfect spot to end a magical day on safari, as the calls of the wild soothe you to sleep.
