The words of David Livingstone, “On sights as beautiful as this, angels in their flight must have gazed,” most aptly describe the beauty of this breathtaking natural world wonder. Known to the local Kololo people as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or the “smoke that thunders”, Victoria Falls is truly a sight to be taken in. Almost two km wide and 108 m high, with an average water flow of one million liters per second, Victoria Falls is nothing short of astonishing.
Victoria Falls, the world’s largest, most dramatic waterfall, is alive with innumerable adrenaline-charged activities. Whether you prefer a bird’s-eye view of the legendary “smoke that thunders” from a helicopter or microlight aircraft, or choose to join the wet-set careering down the river on a raft or river board, the mighty falls have it – trails for hiking, birding, mountain biking and horse riding; jet boating, river rafting, canoeing and bungee jumping off the bridge (the second highest jump in the world: a free-fall of 111 meters!).
