Beginning and ending in the bustling capital, Antananarivo, with its intriguing and colorful markets, you’ll explore the Perinet Special Reserve (home to Madagascar’s most famous residents, the energetic and adorable ring-tailed lemurs) before having the chance to marvel at the spiky rock outcrops of Tsingy National Park – known as the place where one cannot walk barefoot.
That caution naturally doesn’t apply to the idyllic palm-fringed beaches of Nosy Be, a true tropical paradise of golden sand, warm azure ocean and lush green forests. As well as strolling along sun-kissed beaches, you’ll also want to travel the length of the Avenue of the Baobabs.
Perhaps Madagascar’s best-known destination, this stretch of red road runs between dozens of 100ft-high baobab trees. Giant trees you can look up to and look forward to.
