The day is at leisure to relax and adjust to the time difference. Cape Town is recognized as one of the most beautiful places on earth. Offering a range of attractions, breathtaking sights and endless activities, it is a year-round holiday destination with friendly people, a mild climate and rich cultural heritage.
Catch the โHop-on-Hop-Offโ bus to the cable way for a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, or if you are feeling energetic, and want to stretch your legs, you could take one of the hiking trails up and come down by Cable Car. The first car up is at 8:00 am and the last car down is at 10:00 pm.
Within easy reach of your hotel, the V&A Waterfront offers world class shopping and entertainment opportunities such as diving at the Two Oceans Aquarium, the SA Maritime Museum, clay pigeon shooting cruise with Tigger 2, harbor cruise or a sundowner cruise, helicopter flip, and more.
Walk past loud blubbery seals sunning on the pier and take the ferry to Robben Island to visit former South Africa president, Nelson Mandelaโs prison cell. Go on a township tour to experience traditional โCape Flatsโ life and African culture and cuisine.
Sit in one of the relaxed bars that line the Victoria Waterfront and listen to the numerous languages and dialects that fill the air. Sample the delightful cuisine, and discover a sensational blend of flavors as diverse as its cosmopolitan influences. No matter how you choose to experience Cape Town, the Mother Cityโs unique embrace promises to hold you in her clenches for years to come.
Otherwise you may wish to add an optional tour (additional charge). A scheduled half day tour of the city is a good introduction.
You will depart the city for Tafelberg Road and the Lower Cable Station. For those wishing to summit Table Mountain (optional extra) we board the revolving cable car for a 5-minute ride to the top of this legendary promontory (weather permitting). 1 067 metres above sea level, it affords bird’s-eye views of the city, Table Bay and the Peninsula, as you explore its summit.
After the descent, enjoy a scenic coastal drive through Clifton and Sea Point to the city centre to Green Market Square. We stretch our legs with a walk through the Company Gardens. The tour continues with a drive past the Houses of Parliament, the City Hall, The Castle and Slave Lodge, before entering the “Bo Kaap”, also known as the Malay quarter. The architecture in this area is typical of what Cape Town was like 200 years ago.
For the morning tour, we ascend Signal Hill to witness firing of the noon gun (except Sundays and Public Holidays). You will be dazzled by the diamond tour where we learn about the history of these sparkling gems before returning you back to your hotel.

Depart the city along the Atlantic seaboard to the fishing village of Hout Bay, where, as an optional extra, you board a boat to view the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island (weather permitting). Alternatively explore the working harbor and visit the fish markets and local shops. Return to dry land and navigate the 114 curves of 600m high Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the world’s most spectacular passes, past the Cape’s longest beach at Noordhoek and the coastal hamlets of Kommetjie and Scarborough. Look out for Southern Right Whales just offshore from June to November!
Enter the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park. Climb (or ride the world’s first environmentally friendly funicular) to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical vistas of False Bay, and south westernmost point of Africa: breathtaking Cape Point.
Head along the False Bay coast to Boulders Beach for a close-up encounter with a colony of African Penguins, and then head home through the naval village of Simonstown and over Boyes Drive. The last stop of the day is Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, for a walk through one of the largest collections of indigenous plants in the world.

Depart the city for scenic drive towards the Cape Winelands where we will explore some of the historic wine estates. The Cape Winelands are scenically without equal amongst the wine producing regions of the world.
The three major centers in this region are: Paarl, the birthplace of the Afrikaans language, Stellenbosch, the second oldest city in the country and Franschhoek, first settled by the French Huguenots in 1688 and now, undoubtedly, the culinary capital of South Africa.
Your tour will take you to each of these three towns allowing you to enjoy a cellar tour and wine tasting at a leading estate, followed by a second tasting later in the day (time-permitting, perhaps even a third!). Enjoy the mix of majestic mountain ranges, fine wines, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture and sample the fine cuisine.

Two daily game drives are included, accompanied by a skilled ranger and tracker. Since this is a Big Five reserve, seeing lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo is possible over a two-day safari in Kapama Private Game Reserve.
The day starts with an early wake-up call between 5:00 am and 5:30 am. Tea, coffee and rusks are enjoyed together before heading out at first light. While seeing big game is always exhilarating, there are many other smaller species that are also captivating, and birding enthusiasts will be delighted at the approximately 350 species of birds recorded on the reserve. Halfway through the game drive, thereโs a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge at around 9:00 am for a full breakfast. Throughout the day, itโs likely you will see wildlife around the lodge โ nyala antelope and vervet monkeys are frequent visitors, though seeing some of the Big Five is also not uncommon. A bush walk is also an option after breakfast.
At around 3:30pm, everyone gathers for a decadent high tea, before heading out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. En route, youโll stop for a sundowner drink and will have a chance to stretch your legs as you watch the sun set over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains.
As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. The skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animalsโ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge. Arrival is at the lodge is usually around 7:00 pm, allowing time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.
