Bordering Botswana in South Africa’s North West Province, Madikwe Game Reserve is the fifth-largest reserve in the country and is home to a great number of animal species. It contains a wild dog reserve, and is inhabited by the world-renowned Big Five, as well as Brown Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Aardwolf. Visitors will also be surrounded by over 300 bird species, including vulture, ostrich, and the large kori bustard. The landscape is characterised by vast grasslands, woodlands, and the rugged Tshwene Tshwene hills – creating enthralling scenes that often attract photographers and artists. Visitors can look forward to sunset drinks overlooking the Madikwe Dam. Madikwe Game Reserve is one of the only reserves in South Africa that is malaria free.
Traversing over 75 000 hectares, Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is situated on a hill, in the heart of the malaria-free and game-rich Madikwe Game Reserve. Ingeniously set amongst boulders and age-old Tamboti trees, the lodge offers visitors the utmost in luxury and hospitality. Guests will be treated to ‘Big 5’ game viewing in state-of-the-art game-viewers. Accommodation at the main camp comprises 10 Secluded air-conditioned glass-fronted suites with uninterrupted views of the African bush, fireplaces and private plunge pools. The family friendly Little Madikwe Camp comprises a 2 Bedroomed Suite. An additional 2 Luxury Suites can be reserved to form a completely private camp complete with private deck and swimming pool, private lounge and dining room, private kitchen with personal chef, private game drive vehicle, game ranger and tracker, personal villa attendant/childminder and an entertainment centre.
